Bradespar SA Company Profile
The Brazilian Sao Paulo based investment holding’s strategy is to invest and participate in mature and established segments of the Brazilian economy, which offer steady and long-term return on investment. The company also focuses on possible investments in mid-sized or Mid cap companies that are expected to bring in accelerated growth and huge returns. Bradespar is neither a venture capital nor a company that invests in businesses or projects, which are in an initial phase. By December 2005 Bradespar’s portfolio contained (among others): VBC Participacoes (Electric power industry in Brazil), Bradesplan (a Bradespar holding), Millennium, a holding company in the British Virgin Islands, Valepar (shareholdings) and VBC Energia. Through both, VBC Energia and Valepar Bradespar holds important parts of companies in the eletric power industy such as CPFL Energia or in mining companies like CVRD. Bradespar and it’s subdiaries also hold parts of Vale do Rio Doce, Brazil’s biggest iron ore mining company.
Its major shareholder is a group comprising Cidade de Deus Companhia Comercial de Participacoes, Fundacao Bradesco, NCF Participacoes SA and Nova Cidade de Deus Participacoes SA.
