Banco Fibra aims for 105% retail credit increase in 2010
Brazilian midsize bank Banco Fibra is aiming for a 105% rise in consumer credit in 2010, after increasing its retail book 120% to end-2009 with 1.21bn reais (US$666mn), CEO Antônio Francisco de Lima Neto told BNamericas. Fibra is rebalancing its portfolio to go after the higher-spread consumer segment and wants 1bn reais in vehicle loans by year-end, but is still planning to grow its corporate segment 30% in 2010, despite emerging competition from larger banks.
